Session Information

Maternity Session:

Pregnancy is a truly remarkable journey—filled with anticipation, emotion, and a love that begins long before your baby arrives. As a mother myself, I understand the powerful and personal journey of carrying new life. It’s empowering, deeply moving, and unlike any other experience.

Imagine one day showing your child a beautiful portrait of you, glowing with love while carrying them—a visual reminder of where your bond began, even before they entered the world.

I know that pregnancy doesn't always feel or look "picture-perfect"  and that some days you feel far from that pregnany glow —but trust me, you are radiant. You are strong. You are beautiful. Let’s honor this moment and create timeless images that celebrate you and the incredible journey of motherhood.

Where do the Maternity sessions take place?

I do all my maternity sessions in my natural light studio and love to include the other members of your family including partners, other children and pets. Sessions posed but also very relaxed and natural, I like to capture the special bond between you and your baby.

When should a maternity session be booked in?

The sooner the better! Maternity sessions are best done towards the end of your pregnancy around the 35+ week mark so that we can capture your beautiful belly at (almost) its biggest.

How long does a Maternity session go for?

Maternity sessions usually go for about 45 minutes - 1 hour.

What to wear?

One of the wonderful things about a studio maternity session is that you don’t have to worry about the weather or onlookers—it’s a private, relaxed space just for you. This is your special time to celebrate the beauty and anticipation of motherhood.

You’re welcome to bring your own outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable or I offer a curated collection of specially designed maternity gowns, chosen for their flattering fit and how beautifully they photograph. These dresses are available for you to wear during your session.

Whatever you choose, we’ll work together before your session to make sure you look and feel amazing.

Newborn Session:

The ideal time for your newborn session is when your baby is between 5 and 12 days old. During this window, babies are typically still in their naturally curled, womb-like positions and are more likely to sleep deeply—making it easier to gently pose them in those sweet, cozy setups we all love.

After 14 days, babies tend to become more alert and enjoy stretching out, which can make it a bit more challenging to achieve those classic newborn poses. It’s also around this time that common newborn concerns like colic or baby acne may begin to appear.

That said, every baby’s journey is different. If your newborn needs a longer hospital stay, please don’t worry. Just keep me updated, and we’ll schedule your session as soon as possible after your little one is home and ready.

Booking in your session:

I highly recommend booking your newborn session as early as possible. Most clients book in during their second trimester which is perfect timing as I only take a limited number of bookings each month to ensure I can give each session the care and attention it deserves—including time for editing and flexibility for babies who arrive early or later than expected.

If you’re interested in capturing both your pregnancy and those precious newborn moments, I also offer a Bump to Baby package, which includes a special discounted rate when you book both your maternity and newborn sessions together.

If you’ve already had your baby—don’t worry! Please get in touch as soon as possible, and I’ll do my best to fit you in.

To reserve your session, a non-refundable $150 deposit is required. This will be deducted from your final package price. Once the deposit is received, I’ll pencil in your due date to ensure availability around your baby's arrival.

When your baby is born, please add me to your announcement list so we can confirm a date for your session. This helps ensure we capture your little one during that ideal early window, while still allowing some flexibility in case of early or late arrivals or extended hospital stays.

Where does the session take place and how long?

My Newborn sessions take place in my Natural light home studio located in the Sutherland Shire, I have lots of different set ups available for use along with many different props such as: bowls, baskets, headbands, wraps. A typical newborn session can take between 2.5-4 hours. This may seem like a long time, but usually about half of that time is spent feeding and comforting the baby to get Bub as sleepy and happy as possible for the portraits. I allocate plenty of time as the main priority is to keep baby nice and happy and if that means multiple feeds in between poses then that’s fine.

What do I bring?

Feel free to bring any sentimental items you wish to be incorporated into the session i.e. sentimental jewellery, heirloom, Special teddy bear or blanket. Other essentials to consider include:

Dummies (if you use one)

Extra nappies and baby wipes

A change of clothes for yourself (just in case—holding a newborn can lead to unexpected messes! Don’t worry, it happens to me all the time!)

Bottles and formula (if you’re not breastfeeding, as your baby will likely need a top-up during the session)

Since the session can take up to 4 hours, I recommend bringing some snacks for yourself, This is a great time for you to sit back and relax, catch up on emails, or even take a nap while I focus on capturing your little bundle of joy.

Sitter Session:

Sitter sessions are an absolute blast! These sessions are perfect for babies aged 4 to 9 months, when they are becoming more independent and exploring their world. From sitting on their own to starting to crawl, this is the stage where your baby’s big personality truly begins to shine.

During the session, we capture the delightful milestones of your baby’s growth—whether it’s their first teeth, first laughs, or those adorable wobbly moments as they sit or crawl. These sessions are fast-paced and full of fun, with a variety of setups similar style to my newborn sessions, but designed for your growing little one. Get ready for a joyful experience filled with laughter and precious memories!

Children & Families Session:

No two families are alike, and that’s what makes your family so special. Each family dynamic is unique, and I love capturing the distinct personalities of each family member in a way that will allow you to relive these moments for years to come. Whether you're celebrating your baby's first birthday or simply updating your family portraits, I’m here to create lasting memories for you.

Where Do Children / Family Sessions Take Place?

All children and family portrait sessions are held in my studio, providing a comfortable, relaxed space for your session.

What to Wear?

For timeless photos, I recommend choosing clothing that won’t quickly go out of style. Plain, solid-colored clothing without large logos or patterns tends to photograph best. You can choose either a light/neutral or black/dark color theme—whichever suits your family’s vibe. While you don’t need to match, aim for clothing that complements each other’s outfits.

If you need any help or suggestions with wardrobe choices, feel free to contact me—I’m happy to offer ideas!
